Director-General R.C. Wu meets with Governor Mike Easley of North Carolina

Director-General R.C. Wu of TECO-Atlanta, accompanied by Director Benjamin Hong and three other Taiwanese high-tech companies CEO , met with Governor Mike Easley of the State of North Carolina on March 24, 2004. 

D-G Wu exchanged views with Gov. Easley on a wide range of issues concerning the trade, investment, and cultural exchanges between Taiwan and the Tar Hill State.  

To further strengthen the economic and trade ties between North Carolina and Taiwan, D-G Wu also urged the state of North Carolina to set up a trade office in Taipei World Trade Center. He promised TECO in Atlanta would do all it could to facilitate the process of setting up such a trade office.  

Gov. Easley acknowledged of the need to strengthen economic and trade ties with Taiwan. He also expressed his gratitude to D-G Wu for the privilege and courtesy extended to the North Carolina State Senate delegation during their trip to Taiwan. The delegation was led by Majority Leader Tony Rand, January 28-February 5, 2004.   

Three influential North Carolina Senate leaders were also at the meeting: Charlie Dannelly, Senate Deputy Pro Temp, Tony Rand, Majority Leader, and David Weinstain, Chairman of Economic and Natural Resources Committee.
