January 16, 2008 On January 15, 2008 the edgy Taiwanese art exhibit titled Taiwan: From within the Mist opened to a large audience of modern art enthusiasts at the Norman Shannon and Emmy Lou P. Illeges Gallery in Corn Center for Visual Arts. The Corn Center is a new addition to the Columbus State University (CSU) in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Kun-liang Chiu, Minister of the Council for Cultural Affairs in Taiwan and Dr. Ava Pao-Shia Hsueh, Director of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts worked together with Columbus State University¡¦s Fine Arts Department and Director of the gallery, Ms. Hannah Israel to bring the artists' work to the people of Columbus and the surrounding areas. Dr. Charles Liu is curator of Taiwan: From within the Mist. About 100 people gathered within the gallery to view the works of 17 young Taiwanese artists, including former Mayor of Columbus, Bob Poydasheff and his wife Catherine, President and CEO of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Mike Gaymon and his wife Sheila, and long-time friend of TECO in Atlanta and Director of International Development of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Seiko Kabumoto. Director General R.C. Wu and Mrs. Wu, Director of TECO in Atlanta Information Division, Stephen Chang and Director Edward Tao attended the opening. Mr. Wu addressed the crowd, noting the remarkable history and mingling of cultural effects and accelerated political transformation, which bear witness in the works of young Taiwanese minds. Creator of the piece, Pencil Writer, Jin-Hua Shi and the art exhibition delegation joined special friends of TECO in Atlanta and CSU representatives for a dinner at Chef Lee¡¦s, the acclaimed Taiwanese owned restaurant in Columbus, for a traditional Taiwanese dinner hosted by Director General Wu. Dr. Ava Hsueh expressed her hope for further cultural exchanges between the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts and Columbus State University. Taiwan: From within the Mist will be on display at the Corn Center through February 24, 2008. Columbus is the exhibit¡¦s last stop on its U.S. tour before heading back to Taichung, Taiwan. ¾n¨È¯SÄõ¤j¥x¥_¸gÀÙ¤å¤Æ¿ì¨Æ³B·s»D½Z ¡u°gÂ÷®q¢w¥xÆW·í¥NÃÀ³Nµø¶H¡vÃÀ³N®i¦bôÛ¥¬¥«²±¤j¶}¹õ ¥Ñ¬ü°ê³ìªv¨È¦{ôÛ¥¬¦{¥ß¤j¾Ç(Columbus State University, CSU)»P°ê¥ß¥xÆW¬ü³NÀ]¦X§@Á|¿ìªº¡u°gÂ÷®q¢w¥xÆW·í¥NÃÀ³Nµø¶H¡vÃÀ³N®i¤w©ó1¤ë15¤é¦b¸Ó®ÕCorn CenterÃÀ³N¤¤¤ß®i¥X¡C¾n¨È¯SÄõ¤j¥x¥_¸gÀÙ¤å¤Æ¿ì¨Æ³B1¤ë15¤é±ß¶¡»PCSU²±¤jÁ|¿ì¶}¹õ°s·|¡A§dºa¬u³Bªø¡B°ê¥ß¥xÆW¬ü³NÀ]Á§À]ªø«O·å¤ÎCSU¤j¾Ç®ÕªøFrank Brown¦@¦P¾á¥ôPµü¶Q»«¡C¶}¹õ°s·|p¦³150¦ì¨Ó»«°Ñ¥[¡A¥]¬Aô¥«¥«Ä³û¡B¥«¬F©²¸g²z¡B°Ó·|·|ªø¡B¥«©²©j©f¥«©eû·|©eûµ¥¡A³õ±¼ö¦C¡A¦Ó¨È«°¤Îô¥«¤Q¾l¦ì¹´M¤]¥X®u°s·|¡A¦V»·¨ì¨Ó³Xªº¥xÆWÃÀ³N®aªí¹F¤ä«ù¡C °ê¥ß¥xÆW¬ü³NÀ]Á§À]ªø«O·å¤ÎCSU¤j¾Ç®ÕªøFrank Brown¤À§OPµü¡A·PÁÂô¥«¦U¬É¿ãÅD¥X®u¶}¹õ°s·|¡A¨Ã´Á¬ß¥¼¨ÓÂù¤èÄ~Äò¦bÃÀ³N¡B¾Ç³N¤Î¤å¤Æ»â°ì¤W¥[±j¦X§@¡A«P¶i¥x¬ü¥Á¶¡¥æ¬y¡C §d³BªøPµüªí¥Ü¡A¥xÆW¦b¾ú¥v¤W´¿¾ú¸g²M´Â¡B°ê¥Á¬F©²¡B¤é¥»¡B²üÄõ¡B¸²µå¤úµ¥²Îªv¡A³y´N¥xÆW¦³§O©ó¶Ç²Î¤¤°êªº¦h±m¤å¤Æ¡F¥tªñ¤Ü¦~¶¡¡A¥xÆW¸g¾ú¬Fªv§ï²¤Î¸gÀÙÅD¶i¡A´£¨Ñ¤FÃÀ³N®a¥R¨K³Ð§@¯À§÷¡A¥R¤À¤Ï¬M¦b¥»¦¸°Ñ®iªº29¥óªoµe¡BÀJ¶ì¤Î¦h´CÅé§@«~¡C§d³BªøÄ~ºÙ¡A°ê¥ß¥xÆW¬ü³NÀ]¦ì¦b¥x¤¤¡A¦Ó¥x¤¤¥«»Pô¥«¤è©ó2007¦~9¤ë¶¡Ã±¸p©j©f¥«·ù¬ù¡A¥»¶µ®iÄý¾A®É¦bô¥«Á|¦æ¹ï«P¶i¨â¥«±¡½Ë¬Æ¦³§U¯q¡C
