Taiwan to have Presence at Popular Atlanta Community Festival

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta (TECO) will join the 22nd annual Sandy Springs Festival on September 15 - September 16 to promote Taiwan. A Taiwan booth will be on festival grounds for both Saturday and Sunday, providing information and encouraging support for Taiwan’s continued bid to join the United Nations. At 7:30am on Saturday, the15th, about 50 Taiwanese-American runners will join the festival’s kick-off 5k race, starting at Roswell Rd. and circling back along Mt. Vernon Hwy.

The festival falls just days before the United Nations General Assembly will once again consider Taiwan’s membership. The Taiwan booth will offer opportunities to sign petition boards and gather information that can be used to contact your State and Federal Representatives and encourage them to engage in active support for Taiwan’s right to join the UN.

Don’t miss the Taiwan School of Atlanta’s interactive, traditional Taiwanese drumming performance on the Children’s Park Stage on Saturday, 11am. TECO in Atlanta invites those who are interested in joining the 5K race to contact Miss Nicole Denison for further arrangements.

Festival Date/Time:	Saturday, September 15, 2007 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m Sunday, September 16, 2007 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m
Festival Grounds:	The Sandy Springs Festival is located at Sandy Springs Historic Site, located at 6075 Sandy Springs Circle.
Race Start:	Park in the TARGET parking lot, located on Mt. Vernon Hwy. Get there early to get a space! (6:30am arrival time suggested.)
