December 3, 2007 On December 1, 2007, Director General Wu and Deputy Director General Charles Liu joined the Taiwanese American community at the TECO Cultural Center for the Song Jiang Military Array demonstration. Song Jiang Military Array is a recently popularized folk art in Southern Taiwan. The traditional purpose of this martial art form is to exercise the body and to form a battalion of protection within local tribes and villages. Today it is popular as a hobby and friendly group activity One must have 32 people for the array formation. There are two leaders, who can be recognized by the colorful flag and an ornate ax that each carries respectively. The group will first parade as a whole, perform warm up exercises and then split into teams of two for practice duals. The entire exercise takes about 20 minutes. Taiwan¡¦s modern folklore culture is supported and encouraged by TECO in Atlanta. The Taiwanese American community is also very supportive and active in the revival of the Song Jiang Military Array exercises. Robert Wong, owner of Atlanta Wholesale, John Lu, President of the Korean Chinese Restaurant Association and owner of Aqua Bistro restaurant, and TK Wang, a commercial real estate developer in Atlanta, have generously donated weapons to add to the Song Jiang Military Array¡¦s arsenal. The Taiwanese American School of Atlanta will receive the artifacts to teach their students how to perform the exercise. ±À¼s¥xÆW¥»¤g¤å¤Æ §º¦¿°}¨È¯SÄõ¤jµn³õ ¥¼±À¼s¥xÆW¥»¤g¤å¤Æ¡A¾n¨È¯SÄõ¤j¥x¥_¸gÀÙ¤å¤Æ¿ì¨Æ³BÀò±o¨È«°¹´¬É»â³S§f§Ó¥þ¡B¯Îª÷²M¤Î¤ý®õ±dµ¥¤HÃÙ§U¡AÄò¥Ñ±q°ª¶¯¿¤¤ºªù¶mÁʶR§º¦¿°}¾¹§÷¡A¥æ¤©¨È¯SÄõ¤j¥xÆW¥Á«U¨ó·|¤Î¥x¬ü¾Ç®Õºt½m¡A§Æ±æ±N¨Ó¯à°÷¦b¦UºØ°ê»Ú¤å¤Æ¬¡°Ê³õ¦X¤¤¡A®i²{¥xÆW°ê»Ú§Î¶H¡C§º¦¿°}¾¹§÷²¾¥æ¨å§¦b¨È¯SÄõ¤j¹´±Ð¤¤¤ß¥¿¦¡µn³õ¡A³Ìºë±mªº²ö¹L©ó§dºa¬u³Bªø»P¼B§J¸Î°Æ³Bªø¿Ë¦Û¤U³õ»P¹´M¯Îª÷²M¡B§d¬F¿³ªíºt¹ï¥´¡A³o¨â¦W¥~¥æ©xû¦bW½m¤ë¾l«á¡A¤U³õ¹ï¥´®ÉµL½×½ð¡B¥´¡B½¡Bºu¡B¸õ¡A³£»á¨ãªZ®vªº¬[¶Õ¡A¹´±Ð¤¤¤ß¥D¥ôªL¬ü¬Â«h¦b®Ç»ïÆr§U°}¡A¬ß¯àÀò±o¹´M¦@»ï¡A±À®i§º¦¿°}¤å¤Æ¡C ¡@§º¦¿°}¬Oµ²¦XªZ¾Ç©MÃÀ³Nªº¥Á«Uªíºt¡A¬°¥xÆW¼q·|¤£¥i©Î¯Êªºn¨¤¤§¤@¡C³o¤@®M¤@¦Ê¥óªº§º¦¿°}¾¹§÷¥]¬AªA¸Ë¡BÆr¹ª¡B¥H¤ÎÃõP¡Bľ¥J¡B³æ¤M¡BÂù¤M¡B¹_¡B¤e¡B»ô¬Ü´Î¤ä¡BÂù©òµ¥§L¾¹¡A¬O·í«e¬ü°ê²Ä¤@®Mªº§º¦¿°}¾¹§÷¡C §dºa¬uªí¥Ü¡A³o®M»ùȤT¤d¬ü¤¸ªº§º¦¿°}¾¹§÷¡A¬O¿ì¨Æ³BÁܽй´M¤ý®õ±d¡B§f§Ó¥þ¡B¯Îª÷²M¥X¿úÁʶR¡A¦A®½Ãص¹¥x¬ü¾Ç®Õ¤Î¨È¯SÄõ¤j¥xÆW¥Á«U¨ó·|¨Ï¥Î¡C¥L¯S§O±j½Õ¡A¹´M¥i¥H¦b¦UÓ¼h±¥X¿ú¥X¤O¡A¬°¥xÆW±À¼s¥~¥æ¡A¤£¤@©w³£n¥Ñ¬F©²¥X¿ú¡A¦]¦¹¥L«Ü·PÁ¤T¦W¹´Mªº®½§U¡C
