News & Events >> 2007 Taiwan's 96th National Day October 5, 2007 TECO in Atlanta¡¦s 96th Republic of China, Taiwan National Day reception was held at the Oceans Ballroom of the Georgia Aquarium on the evening of October 4, 2007. over 400 VIP guest and close friends of Taiwan joined to celebrate the island nation and its democratic government. Director General R.C. Wu and Mrs. Rachel Wu, greeted the procession of friends as they entered the ballroom. Among the guests of honor and speakers at the reception were Tommy Irvin, long-standing Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georgia State Representatives Charlice Byrd and Matt Dollar. Representative Byrd presented Director General Wu will a proclamation of support from the State of Georgia. Senator Saxby Chambliss was represented by Mr. Bill Stembridge and Mr. Ted Hackney of the Industrial Board of Coffee County, Tennessee also joined the ranks of honored friends on the stage.
