Taiwanese Semiscon Vocal Band Visits South Carolina The renowned Semiscon a capella band from Taipei performed to large audiences in Sumter and Columbia, South Carolina. This singing group of young men and women was established in 2001; since then, they have received much acclaim in Taiwan and now perform to international audiences. Semiscon has such stage presence and charisma that the audiences in South Carolina often sang along with the band’s American pop song choices, and after the show, Semiscon signed autographs. The music of Semiscon’s talented singers brings the joy and good will of Taiwan to its international friends, making the group’s performances an important act of civil diplomacy.
