Taiwan Dance Troupe joins Good-Will Delegation to perform at Douglasville High School

The San Hsin Dance Troupe traveled from Taiwan to Douglasville, with the Kaohsiung Official Goodwill Delegation, to perform at Douglasville High School on March 20, 2006. The performance line-up consisted of Taiwanese folk dances mixed with more contemporary modern dance fusions. The dances included Dancing Peacock, Little Maids Dancing with Drums, and Stories from the Temple Square.
The students of Douglasville High School responded with enthusiasm, as they joined the troupe on stage for a more ¡¥free-form¡¦ dance at the end of the performance. Local Taiwanese and Douglasville community leaders were also among the audience.

A reception was held at the Douglasville Cultural Arts Center after the troupe performed. Mayor of the City of Douglasville, Mr. Mickey Thompson was present at the reception to meet the delegation and welcome them to his city.

The Taiwan delegation was hosted by the Cultural Arts Center of Douglasville, under the leadership of Executive Director, Mrs. Laura Lieberman and Board President, Mrs. Renee Sanders. Mrs. Sanders and Mrs. Lieberman coordinated with Director General R.C. Wu and TECO in Atlanta to bring the cultural performance to Douglasville.
