Events & Activities News >> 2006 TECO holds 95th Republic of China (Taiwan) National Day Reception at Georgia Aquarium October 4, 2006 On the evening of October 3, TECO celebrated the 95th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) at the Georgia Aquarium, which first opened its doors to the public in November, 2005. Among the honored guests were Mr. Bernie Marcus, co-founder of Home Depot and benefactor of the aquarium, Mr. Craig Lesser, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Veteran Lloyd Evans II, State Senator Phil Berger (NC) and Judson Hill (GA), and State Representative Matt Dollar (GA), and Larry Brown (NC). More than 400 people enjoyed the reception and the array of foods provided by Momoya, Eurasia Bistro, SUNO Deserts, and Tzu The tea. In his welcome remarks, Director General R.C. Wu pointed out that most of the fish at the aquarium, including the main attraction, the four whale sharks, are from Taiwan. He dubbed the whale sharks, “Ambassadors of Taiwan.” Mr. Wu mentioned in his speech that in 2005, Taiwan imported $400,000,000 of goods from Georgia, an increase of 30% from the previous year. Taiwanese investment in the Southeast U.S. will continue playing a constructive role in the enhancement of the bilateral relationships between Taiwan and the Southeast states, Resolutions passed by several state legislatures in the region, which were displayed at the reception, are symbols of the states’ strong support of Taiwan. In celebration of Taiwan’s 95th National Day, governors of Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina all issued proclamations recognizing Taiwan’s contribution in global economy and world peace. Mr. Wu called on all guests to continue supporting Taiwan’s democracy and freedom, and help her to stand against the threat of China, against the deployment of 800 missiles targeting at the island country. In conclusion, Mr. Wu assured the audience that Taiwan will stay the course of her sustainable development, even while facing the economic rise of China. The road maybe long and treacherous, but the future of Taiwan will be bright. ·s»D½Z ¼yÂù¤Q ¨È«°¦U¬É¯¬¤¤µØ¥Á°ê¥Í¤é§Ö¼Ö ¬°¼y¯¬¤¤µØ¥Á°ê95¦~°ê¼y¡A¾n¨È¯SÄõ¤j¥x¥_¸gÀÙ¤å¤Æ¿ì¨Æ³B©ó¥»¡]10¡^¤ë3¤é±ß¯S§O¿ï¾Ü©ó¤j³¡¤À®i¥Ü³½Ãþ¨Ó¦Û¥xÆW¡A¨j©ó¤W¦~11¤ë¶¡¶}¹õ¤§¬ü°êªF«n°Ï³Ì¤jªº¡u³ìªv¨È¤ô±ÚÀ]¡v(Georgia Aquarium)Á|¿ì¼y¯¬§Ú°ê95¦~Âù¤Q°ê¼y°s·|¡A¬ü°ê³Ì¤j¤§®a®x¤ª÷³sÂꩱHome Depot³Ð¿ì¤HBernie Marcusµ¥°Ó¬É¤H¤h¡B³ìªv¨È¦{°Ó°ÈÆUªøCraig Lesser¡BÁp¨¹©Ð«Î³¡«n°Ï¥D¥ôBob Young¤Î³ìªv¨È¦{»P¥_¥d¦{°Ñ²³Ä³û¡Bªü®Ú§Êµ¥Á`»â¨Æµ¥¥~¥æ¹Î¦¨û¡B823¯¥¾Ô¨ó·|¥D®uLloyd Evansµ¥¦U¥Á¶¡¹ÎÅé¥Nªí¤Î¹´¬É¤H¤h¦@400¤H°Ñ»P²±·|¡C °Ñ¥[°s·|¶Q»«©ó¶i³õ«e³q¹L¸ÓÀ]³Ì¤j¤ô±Ú½c®É¡A¥i¥H¬Ý¨ì¨Ó¦Û¥xÆWªº¥|±ø§À«UºÙ¨§»GÃTªºÃTÄH©M¼Æ¤d¤p³½±y¹C¨ä¶¡¡A¨C·íÃTÄH³q¹L¤ô±Ú½cÆ[½àµ¡®É¡AÁ`¬O¤Þ°_¤@°}Ä̰ʡA°s·|²{³õ¤º¾Fªñ¥t¤@¸m©ñ¾¥¦èô¥Õ®ü³bªº¤ô±Ú½c¡A»P·|¶Q»«¦î¨¬Æ[½à¡A¥Ñ©ó¥»¦~¿ì¨Æ³B°t¦X¤ô±ÚÀ]¶}¹õ¦b¸ÓÀ]®b·|ÆUÁ|¿ì°ê¼y°s·|¡A»P·|¤H¼Æ»·¶W¹Lì¹w¦ô¼Æ¥Ø¡A³õ±²±¤j¼öµ¸¡A¾ú®É¬ù3¤p®É¡C ¿ì¨Æ³B§d³Bªøº¥ý©ó°s·|¤¤Pµü¤¶²Ð¡u³ìªv¨È¤ô±ÚÀ]¡v©Ò®i¥Ü¤§³½Ãþ¦h¼Æ¨Ó¦Û¥xÆW¡A¨ä¤¤¥|±ø¥¨µLÅQ«¬ÄHÃT§ó¬O¥xÆW¦V¥@¬É®i²{¤Í½Ë»P¦X§@¶H¼xªº¿Ëµ½¤j¨Ï¡A2005¦~xÆW¥ç¦Û³ìªv¨È¦{¶i¤f4»õ¬ü¤¸¤§³f«~¡A¦¨ªø´T«×¸û¤W¦~°ª¹F¦Ê¤À¤§30¡A¥x¬ü¶¡¤§¸g¶T¡B¤å¤Æ©¹¨Ó±N¦³§UÂù¤è¥¼¨Ó¤§¤¬§Q¦X§@Ãö«Y¡C§d³BªøÄò»¡©ú¥xÆW¬Fªv¥Á¥Dµo®i¾úµ{¤Î¤G¤d¦~¬FÅv©M¥Âಾ©Ò±a¨Óªº¥Á¥D¹ê½î¤w¦b¥xÆW¥Í®Ú_§§¡A¥Á¥D±N¬O¥xÆW¥¼¨Ó°ß¤@ªº¹D¸ô¡A¦]¦¹©IÆ~¤¤°ê¤Å¥H800ªT¸¼u«Â¯Ù¥xÆWªº¥Á¥Dµo®i¤ÎªýÂZ¥xÆW¹ï°ê»ÚªÀ·|ªº°Ñ»P¤Î¦^õX¡C§d³Bªø³Ì«áªí¥Ü¡A¥xÆW¦b±¹ï¤¤°êªº¸gÀÙ±U°_¤§¦P®É¡An¦b¥@¬É¦û¦³¤@®u¤§¦a¡A±N¦³¤@¬qÁ}¨¯ªº¸ôn¨«¡A¦]¦¹¸Û¼°ªº¥ø¬ß©Ò¦³ªº¬ü°ê¤Í¤H¡B¹´M»P§Ú̦@¦P§V¤O¥H³Ð³y¥xÆW¥ú©úªº¥¼¨Ó¡C ³ì¦{¦{ªøSonny Perdue¡BªÖ¶ð°ò¦{¦{ªøErnie Fletcher¡Bªü©Ô¤Ú°¨¦{¦{ªøRobert R.
