Taipei City enhances the Sister-City ship with Atlanta January 30, 2005 A Taipei Sister City Goodwill Mission, led by Ms. Chih-Ping Wang, Taipei City Councilwoman, visited Atlanta on January 26-28, 2005. The Mission also included a performing troupe of the Acrobatics and Dance Department of the National Taiwan Junior College of Performing Arts, scheduled to perform at 7:30 p.m. on January 27 at Georgia State University¡¦s Rialto Center for Performing Arts. It featured a crowd-pleasing, colorful display of Taiwanese acrobatics and dance. Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta, representing the interests of Taiwan in the six southeastern states, was in charge of the mission¡¦s visit. Mayor Shirley Franklin and Councilor Jim Maddox received the delegation and attended the outstanding performance to honor Atlanta¡¦s sister city Taipei. Taipei is the Capital City of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Taipei and Atlanta have been sister cities since 1979.
