2005 Presidential Cup Golf Tournament

In commemoration of the Inauguration anniversary of President Chen Shui-bian, TECO in Atlanta, together with the Taiwan Golf Association and Southeastern States Chinese Golf Association, sponsored the !¡±2005 Presidential Cup Golf Tournament !¡±on May 15, 2005 at the Stone Mountain Golf Club in Georgia. About 60 golfers attended the tournament, including Mr. and Mrs. Liston Barfield, State Senator of South Carolina. The game was enjoyed by all, as were the dinner party and award ceremony thereafter.

In his speech, Director General R. C. Wu thanked his fellow competitors for their commitment and enthusiasm in attending the tournament in spite of rain. Adding, that such !¡±Taiwan Spirit!¡L is what drives Taiwanese to make further achievements in economic and political arenas. Moreover, in the participants morale is reflected the unity and harmony found within Taiwanese-American groups. In closing, D-G Wu wished prosperity and success for all of Taiwan.
