TECO and Fulton County¡¦s Northview High School Sign Agreement of Cooperation

September 7, 2005

On September 7, 2005, Principal Peter Zervakos agreed to co-sponsor activities and cultural programs with TECO for the student body at Northview High School. Twenty percent of Northview¡¦s students are of Asian descent, and Mr. Zervakos and Mr. James Williams, Vice Principal, were pleased to sign an agreement of cooperation to recognize and support the diversity of the school. The cooperation will support such activities such as Mandarin classes and Lunar New Year celebrations at Northview.

The signing ceremony was held in the library of Northview High School. Over fifty Taiwanese community leaders attended and Mr. Wu addressed the audience of Taiwanese, Northview High School authorities, and local leaders in education. He stressed his appreciation for Principal Zervakos¡¦ enthusiasm to support the international community¡¦s children and proposed that the two sides would learn much from each other in their mutual efforts. Mr. Wu quoted a relevant Chinese proverb, ¡§It takes ten years to cultivate a tree, but one hundred years to cultivate a person.¡¨ He expressed his desire that the mutual commitment in signing this cooperation would progress into the future for the increased benefit of the community.
