TECO Atlanta

TECO held a Taiwan embroidery exhibition on October 19^th, inviting the members of the Atlanta International Clubs and the Taiwanese community to experience the beauty of Taiwanese embroidery. The exhibits including the embroidered clothes used in the worshipping ceremonies in the Taiwan temples, the traditional wedding dresses for the bride and groom, as well as the table cloth, mat, purse with unique embroidery. It took TECO six months to acquire all the items for this exhibition. Mr. Wen-Su Yeh provided a embroidered painting of peacock for this event. And Mrs. Chi-hui Chen, a enthusiast of embroidery, also presented her embroidered painting and explained the needle work to the participants.

台灣刺繡作品使亞城主流社會驚豔─祭祀、婚禮工藝品精英還有罕見國畫刺繡

本處日前在會議室舉辦台灣刺繡展，有近百位亞特蘭大國際俱樂部會員與僑團代表應邀觀賞。這次覽出10多件台灣刺繡精品，每件展品除了個別說明外，僑界人士藉由解說台灣刺繡作品與主流社會互動，讓外賓更加了解台灣刺繡之美。

亞特蘭大國際俱樂部會長貝福在會中致詞表示，該會宗旨為從事國際事務研究，以增進會員對各項國際議題的瞭解，並向美國政府提供建言，目前有會員一百人左右，她盼望該會會員享受台灣民間刺繡之美。

經文處長吳榮泉致詞表示，台灣刺繡與信仰息息相關，民間迎神賽會儀式中均以刺繡品展現各項台灣工藝，另外刺繡品亦融入生活，此次除展出與神明有關刺繡品外，也展示一些結婚典禮刺繡用品，吳榮泉也感謝葉文書及陳智慧提供珍藏多年刺繡品展出。

辦事處歷經半年準備此項展覽，除精心從台灣購置各項日常刺繡品外，並多方探詢及借用僑胞珍藏，葉文書提供珍藏多年的「孔雀開屏」刺繡圖，另外喜好刺繡的林明璋教授夫人陳智慧提供她根據國畫圖樣，一針一針刺成的國畫刺繡品，她並向在場外賓解釋製作過程，獲得與會外賓高度讚賞。吳榮泉夫人許秋月則展出她十幾年前所購置的小鳳仙裝參展。亞特蘭大國際俱樂部會員李查及依莉莎白夫婦表示，他們曾經於1989年到1993年在台灣經商，對台灣迎神賽會熱鬧景象記憶猶新，每一件展品都勾起他們在台灣美好的回憶。
