Director General Wu visits City of Americus and Plains, GA and
Attends Farewell Party of Retiree Dr. Raymond Ho

Director General Wu visited Americus and Plains, GA, the home town of former President Jimmy Carter, on March 30, 2005. D-G Wu respectively called on Mayor Bill McGowan, Mayor Bose Godwin, and Dr. Michael Hanes, president of Southwest State University in an effort to enhance mutual relations between Taiwan and their constituencies with special emphasis on sister-city ship, academics and culture. D-G Wu also attended a farewell party for Retiree Dr. Raymond Ho, Commissioner of the Overseas Chinese Commission of the Republic of China (Taiwan), held by Dr. Seagraves, President of Sumter Regional Hospital.

In his congratulatory speech, D-G Wu admired Dr. Ho's Achievements, having served for the Sumter Regional Hospital for 30 years, winning the full trust and recognition of Americus' citizens. D-G Wu recognized Dr. Ho's contributions and efforts in bringing the people of Taiwan and the U.S. closer, calling him a grass-root ambassador of Taiwan.

Americus and Plains maintain close relations with Taiwan ever since the establishment of their sister-city-ship with Yun-Ho and Kaohsiung.
