Mayor Killebrew Welcomes Director General to City of Cochran

Director General R.C. Wu led a delegation of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta to the City of Cochran to meet with Mayor Charles Killbrew and to attend a special ceremony in which the Mayor presented the Director General with a Key to the City. The honor was presented to Mr. Wu in appreciation for his efforts in building Taiwan-Georgia relations.

The delegation visited the Bleckley Chamber of Commerce and attended a lunch, hosted by President of the Chamber, Ms. Ann Sinyard, in honor of Mr. Wu. Director Eugene Chen of TECO in Atlanta also joined the delegation to discuss current Taiwanese economic issues in relevance to Georgia. Commissioner C.S. Chen also discussed Taiwanese investments in Georgia and Jerome Yeh made several comments on the thriving Taiwanese American community in Cochran.

The delegation finished off their visit to the City of Cochran with a tour of the oldest two year college in the United States, Middle Georgia College, and of the largest lighting company, Lithonia Lighting. Overall the trip was a nod to current and future opportunities in the relationship between Cochran and Taiwan.
