At the invitation of the Kiwanis Club of Northside Atlanta, Director-General Rong-Chuan Wu delivered a speech on Taiwan's economic and political development as well as its international relations on February 20, 2004.  

D-G Wu stressed on the values and interests shared by Taiwan and the United States. He also addressed the March 20 ROC Presidential election and the accompanying referenda. Mr. Wu emphasized that the passage of the Referendum Law was part of the natural course of Taiwan's democratization and the March 20 peace referenda were conducted in response to Mainland China's increasing military threat.  

In response to the audience, Mr. Wu urged American friends to continue support democratic Taiwan for playing a more constructive role in the international community.

D-G Wu was accompanied by Senior Consular Officer Bill Huang.
