Director-General Wu Attended the AMERICASMART Trade Show

The largest gift and home furnishing trade show in the United States-The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market -was held from July 9 to July 13th, 2004, in the Atlanta AMERICASMART. There were more than 4,000 temporary booths and 2,000 showrooms at the trade show that attracted over 78,000 buyers and visitors. 

The Commercial Division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta also participated in the trade show in order to take advantage of the opportunity to promote Taiwan's trade and image. Besides distributing Taiwan's trade and investment information to participants, the Commercial Division also offered consulting services to those interested in doing business with Taiwan. During the trade show, the Commercial Division obtained many concrete trade opportunities which it subsequently uploaded to the Trade Opportunity Database in Taiwan, enabling Taiwanese businessmen the chance to explore various export markets. 

The Director-General of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta, Mr. Rong-Chuan Wu, accompanied by the Commercial Division Director, Mr. Eugene Y.J. Chen, and the Information Division Director, Mr. Jen-Hwan Kao, visited the trade show and oversaw the preparation of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office's booth on "opening" day. Director General Wu also greeted Taiwanese exhibitors in the Trade Show and committed TECO's assistance while they stayed in Atlanta. The 2003/2004 President of the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of North America, Mr. Jerome Yeh, and the President of Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta, Mr. Robert Won, also visited TECO's booth and provided their opinions about Taiwan's trade promotion activities.
